We often talk about how important first impressions are. In 2013 when we remodeled our offices, Tony’s nephew asked a friend to help us move all of the office furniture back into the offices. Tony was extremely impressed by that friend, now one of his team members, Abel Corona. He watched as Abel solved problems like how to move heavy objects that didn’t really fit in the space we were moving them to and especially how motivated he was no matter what task was asked of him.
Time has definitely not proven Tony wrong, as Abel continues to exemplify the kind of man that he respects. The media will have us believe that the next generation is lazy and doesn’t understand the “old school” values that we hold so dear, but Abel proves them wrong. Abel’s strong work ethic, family values, integrity, honesty and faith are the key reasons why he has quickly moved into a foreman position. As Tony looks forward to the end of his career, it is comforting for him to know that there are members of the next generation like Abel that will continue the legacy that Retrofit has worked so hard to build.
